an overview of The beacon Fellowship

The Beacon Fellowship is a global four-week program for undergraduate students interested in business, consulting, or parallel fields. During the course of the Fellowship, students work in small groups alongside a Project Lead with experience from McKinsey, Bain, or BCG to solve a socially impactful business problem for a real client. Based at a client site in D.C. or Europe, Fellows establish and hone their professional skills in a stretching, global environment.

Program eligibility

The Beacon Fellowship is designed for current undergraduate students who want to develop their business skills or gain consulting experience. Fellows should exhibit:

  • A strong work ethic

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to teamwork

  • Professionalism

  • Flexibility in new environments

  • A clear vision for why the Beacon Fellowship is the right fit for them at this time

Program Elements

The Fellowship is more than a consulting project; it's a professional development program that includes: 

  • Training sessions and mentorship from an experienced MBB consultant

  • Autonomous and group work, including a final presentation to client leadership

  • The unique opportunity to explore Madrid, London, or D.C.

  • A network of peer and professional contacts
