work under a mckinsey/bain/bcg alumnus on a real consulting project

exclusive post-grad Fellowship offered in Madrid

The Beacon Fellowship is an educational program for anyone interested in business, consulting, or parallel fields. Our post-grad track is designed for current graduate students (Masters, MBAs, PhDs) and college graduates who want to develop their business skills or gain consulting experience. Click here to learn about our undergraduate programs.

During the course of the Fellowship, Fellows work and train under the guidance of a McKinsey, Bain, or BCG Project Lead, while working on a real consulting project for a client. On the post-grad track, Fellows enjoy one-on-one attention from an MBB Project Lead, support and resources from our international staff in Madrid, and the ability to greatly impact a client in a team of peers, all of which characterize our highly rated undergraduate programs.

Program Elements

The Fellowship is more than a consulting project. It's a professional development program that includes:

  • Training and mentoring from an experienced MBB consultant

  • Autonomous work and group collaboration

  • The opportunity to present final recommendations to client leadership

  • The unique opportunity to explore Madrid

  • A network of peer and professional contacts

Program impact

This data shows the significant educational value of the Beacon Fellowship and how it is helping to educate the next generation of management consultants.
— Brian Whalen, Chief Academic Officer at The Beacon Fellowship

Our Fellows have secured internships and full-time offers from BCG & McKinsey and other prestigious consulting firms, and top companies like Deustche Bank, EY, & Citibank in fields that include entrepreneurship, corporate finance and banking.

Beacon Fellows report progress in key consulting skills. Overall, 92% of Fellows from this past summer reported progressing on the International Council of Management Consulting Institute’s Competency Framework, which includes analytical skills, consulting knowledge, business insight, assignment management, & professionalism. In addition to the impact on the Fellows, their skills, & their opportunities, our project create real impact for the clients. Clients are frequently blown away by the quality of our Fellows’ work and often implement the Fellows’ research and recommendations immediately.

start your application

There is no deadline to apply, but there are many benefits to enrolling as early as possible.

  1. Enroll early to secure a spot in the program of your choice and make plans for the rest of your summer (i.e. do another internship before/after Beacon).

  2. Students who enroll earliest get first picks on clients and Project Leads once they are announced.

  3. The best flight prices usually occur around 5 months out. Purchasing flights early can save you hundreds of dollars and there are usually more flight options to choose from.

  4. Students who enroll by Oct 18 get a free 3 month Rosetta Stone subscription. A great way to take advantage of being in a foreign country is learning some of the language!

The application process consists of 4 steps:

  1. Start your online application below.

  2. Complete and submit your application.

  3. If selected, conduct a 30-minute video interview with an Admissions Coordinator.

  4. Receive notification of Beacon's decision.
